Dear ABA Members,
With Labor Day just around the corner, I’m reminded that this holiday marks the unofficial end of the summer season and, in a shout out to our school days, the start of a new “year,” a time of looking forward to catching up with old friends and making new ones, of learning and enjoying new experiences. The coming fall season usually brings us many opportunities to do just that, from our September meeting to Andy Johnson’s Teamsters Health & Benefits Expo to the IFEBP’s Annual Conference, and more. Also, please mark your calendars for two ABA Fall events and one winter event:
- October 21, 9 am to noon: Our Breakfast Roundtable, entitled “Engagement and Awareness Best Practices Roundtable”, to be held at the NY Metro Conference Center, 350 31st Street, New York, NY, 1st floor (directly across from the Moynihan Train Station/Penn Station, between 8th and 9th Aves.) The Roundtable is designed for both regular and associate members to hear from your fellow ABA members what is and is not working in terms of reaching their members, engaging them in the various point solutions they’ve brought to their participants…)
- November 9th, 10 am to 1 pm: ABA Annual Brunch: at Menehune Grille, Honolulu, Hawaii, held on the first day of the IFEBP Annual Conference.
- December 4th, 6 pm to 10 pm: ABA Annual Holiday Reception, St. Regis New York.
And speaking of Labor Day, I’d love to see everyone out there this year at the NYC Labor Day Parade, Saturday, September 6th, organized by our friends at the New York City Central Labor Council, marching from 44th Street and 5th Avenue north towards 64th Street. Given the federal government’s attacks on working people, on our immigrant coworkers, on our democratic institutions and norms, and on the rule of law itself, we all should be marching to show our solidarity with working people and our opposition to authoritarianism. See you out there!
A special thank you to Noureen Rahman of Segal and Matt Davis of Green Light, for their presentations and their contributions to the newsletter. Also, a thank you to our June lunch sponsor, Maria McAfee of Slate-Rx.
Our upcoming meeting on September 16th will feature two important presentations. The first will be by Craig Kurtzweil of United Healthcare presenting: Healthcare trends and a look around the corner.
The second presentation will be by Jay Goebel and Chelsea Durnil of True Rx Health Strategists entitled: The GLP-1 Era: Understanding the current landscape and beyond.
